Microneedling with PRP/PRF

Microneedling with PRP/PRF

PRP (Platelet-rich plasma) or PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) therapy, aka ‘Vampire Facial ®, can be used to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. During PRP or PRF treatment, blood is drawn, centrifuged (spun down) to separate the plasma and the platelet-rich portion (PRP) that is rich in growth factors from the red blood cells. By microneedling the PRP or PRF back into the skin, collagen is stimulated, and new tissue is generated.

Blood platelets aid in stopping bleeding and repairing damaged blood vessels and cells in the body. Additionally, platelets contain substances known as growth factors that activate and rejuvenate cells in the body.

The PRF or PRP treatment is combined with microneedling. Under the eyes or tear troughs, PRP or PRF is also a very safe and effective procedure to reduce fine lines, dark circles, hollows, and dryness.

Patients often notice an improved appearance of hyperpigmentation and acne scarring along with a more youthful, glowing complexion. At Bella Rose Aesthetics, we use PRP/PRF with Microneedling using the Rejuvapen NXT. PRP/PRF with MicroNeedling is two minimally invasive treatments performed in-office that improve the appearance of the skin while reducing downtime.

FAQs

Microneedling with PRP/PRF stimulates your body’s natural repair process by creating new cells, producing more collagen, and releasing growth factors. This results in naturally rejuvenated skin.

If you have uneven skin tone, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging, a PRP/PRF facial may be right for you.

PRP/PRF with Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates collagen production by rolling fine needles over the skin while applying platelets, which are a component of blood. The PRP/PRF from the blood may enhance microneedling’s effectiveness. Plasma is liquid in blood, while platelets are solid.

After microneedling, patients typically see visible results about 2-3 weeks afterward. In 4-6 weeks, you should notice a marked improvement. Depending on the severity of the patient’s symptoms and their skin condition, it may vary from patient to patient.

It is expected that PRP/PRF Treatments will produce long-lasting results, though results may vary from person to person.

Bruising and swelling are possible after injections, so plan your event/vacation two weeks in advance. Recovery from microneedling with PRP/PRF is 1-2 days with reddened skin, no peeling.
